Still looking for that cigar

Well, this time I've really done it. I've started down a road that there is likely no turning back from. Not without starting all over, and I don't think I could do that. See Below...

On the other hand, it might be possible to retreat from here - but to do that, I have to stop right here and make up my mind whether this is the right way to go. So anybody with an opinion is more than welcome, at this point, to weigh in on the decision.

Hmm.....don't kill me...but I kind of liked the cloud cover around the mountain better in the last post.

I love everything from the bottom of the mountain down. That looks done to me....

But that's just my humble opinion..

Sandy: Yours is the first comment. There will be others, I hope. But - duly noted. And thank you.

Hmmm...this is a tough decision, I can tell. Usually when I paint I scramble through and don’t deliberate too much (I take about 1-2 hours per painting). I did like the white clouds hovering around the mountain, but the gray covering the sky gives the scene a sense of mystery and despair. Is the boat abandoned, washed ashore - it almost fits perfectly. I think it could go in this direction if the clouds are blended further (not sure about the blue sky off to the top right, that may need to go gray as well).

Love the work you're doing! I'm afraid I'm with Sandy, the previous cloud cover had a real feel about it.

Trust yourself. Listen to your gut. Take the power away from your head and go with your instincts :)

I'm sorry, but I'm with Sandy on this one.
I did like the way the clouds hovered around the mountaintop and the darker form of clouds like a storm rolling in in the last version.
sorry... :S
(I could never be an art critic...)

But hey, question is: What do you like Best - it's YOUR art piece and only you know how it shall look like :)

mmmm well you did ask for comments..

umm the clouds are fine..except that the grey needs to extend all the way across the sky. Have you stepped back and viewed your painting from a distance???

the boat looks like it was just plonked there.. It looks unnatural and it doesn't really work..the angles are all wrong...

okay I am running away now

cheers Kim.
